I dunno... burn stuff?

today i worked with rose and maddy on heat shields we were very successful we got our heat shield to last 5 minutes. but we had to turn off the wtorch so we wouldnt waste propain it adent even burnt a hole though the foil. we figured out that if there was alot of space inbeetween the foil and the net then the heat would spread and cool down more. i am glad tht we figured out how to make a good heat shield, because if something goes wrong on mission to mars with heat i will know what to do.

the profesional wire stripper...

today i worked with louisa and lucy. we worke on motors and watched a video about makeing a vacuem. first we made a straw that sukup a needle to the center to da that we had to rap wire arond the straw and strip the wires at the end. then we put the to ends to a magnet and put the needin the opening of the staw. it was sucked in to the middle of the straw i am wondering what the effect would be if we used a bigger straw and a bigger magnet.

Drop it like its HOT.

Today me and my partner rose work on our parachute for mini M2M. we tryed alot of differerent parachutes in lots of different sizes. But we decided to still with our original parachute. its just the right size and has a perfect hole at the top. we are still working on the accuracy of our parachute because we havent figuered out how to make it go perfectly strait we figuered out that if we crinkle it up and then drop t the parachute will open at the last minute and it will go a little bit straiter.

Launching from the Moon

My partner and I worked on launching from the moon lab. We had to launch a straw and objects up a string using a balloon. We didn't accomplish our task but we leaned more about how every action has an equal and opposite reaction because te balloon forced air out one way and it moved the opposite direction. We think this is important for M2M because we will need to know a lot about pressure and forcing air to move things.

Lego Robotics

in this lab i worked with rose and kimmy to make a lego robot go through a gate made out of lego it was very tricky to get all the timeing right but we figuered out that if we increase just the time or the speed it will work better. in the end we got it to work and go through the gate but it took about five trys and each time we had to adjust someting little to make it work.
